Test drove vehicle – it ran fine this time but motorized noise can be heard while acceleration Raised and Inspected under vehicle – found few other items that need attention too: 1. Coolant leak – lower tank of radiator has slow leak 2. Right front sway bar link separated and left side has excessive play While up on the lift tired to run in gear and with help of another technician – verified the noise is coming from the transmission differential – bearing noise Inspected play on the CV axles – none Redrove vehicle for longer range and noted the transmission acts like slipping – bad clutch Inquired with customer if his concern is like RPM is increasing and vehicle does not want to accelerate – customer acknowledge it to be same Therefore the clutch seem to worn out, otherwise gears are able to be shifted well Recommendations: 1. Rebuild/Rebearing the transmission 2. Replace New Clutch Kit with New Flywheel and Rear Main Seal 3. Replace Front Sway Bar Links 4. Replace Radiator Customer authorized all recommendation
Removed and replaced rear main seal and flywheel Installed new clutch set on rebuild trany Filled with new Honda Manual trans fluid Test drove vehicle after transmission replacement – does not feel any slippage now and no noise from differential now ** Vehicle does has some hesitation at times and check engine light flashed. DTC;s that registered in pending – P0301, P0302, P0303 – Cylinder 1, 2 and 3 misfire. It does not have consistent misfire but it does feel at times while driving Due to millage of the vehicle it should have the spark plugs replaced
Transmission Rebearing performed and synchronizer seals replaced
Removed and replaced sway bar links Test drove vehicle – no rattle noise over uneven pavement
When removing bumper to access radiator noted the metal under cover is bent – condenser is bent too All retainers are substituted to sheet metal screws While Removing radiator noted that the vehicle has radiator support frame bent – seem to have been a collision impact Front motor mount is separated too. Removed and replaced radiator and front motor mount – replaced the bumper cover as best as possible – secured the condenser with zip ties. Filled with new coolant – ran engine at 1500 RPM – cooling fan cycles at 205 deg F – temperature stays normal Test drove vehicle – ran fine
When removed Ignition coil – noted oil in the ports – due port seals bad Cleaned out ports – replaced new sparks plugs – test drove vehicle – runs fine Note: Recommend to replace Valve cover gasket or the misfire may return
